Here is the list that of product to avoid purchasing so you can be sure that your dog doesn’t get accidentally poisoned with Xylitol.
These are the items to avoid:
- All Sugar-free gum, but especially the brands Orbit, Mentos, Ice Breakers, Pür, Starbucks, Stride, Nicorette and Trident
- All non-organic Peanut Butter, but especially the brands Go Nuts, Co, Krush Nutrition, Nuts ‘N More, P28 Foods, and Protein Plus PB
- Throat lozenges
- Breath strips
- Hard candies
- Mentos
- Toothpaste
- Mouthwash
- Certain medications such as Allegra, Gummy Vites and Nature’s Plus
- Jell-O
- Some yogurts and protein bars
You can always check your labels to see if an item has Xylitol, but if you suspect your dog may have eaten even an incredibly small portion, call your vet immediately!
